Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Meticulously interpret work orders, pick lists, or Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify the specific components, quantities, and assembly instructions required for each kit.
Accurately locate and pick individual parts from various inventory storage locations, such as shelving, bins, or racks, ensuring part numbers and descriptions match the order.
Methodically assemble components into complete kits, verifying that every required item is present and accounted for before proceeding to the next stage.
Utilize handheld RF scanners and other inventory management technology to accurately record the movement of components from stock to kits, maintaining real-time data integrity.
Perform rigorous quality control checks on all components before, during, and after the kitting process to identify and segregate any defective, damaged, or incorrect parts.
Securely package completed kits using appropriate materials (bags, boxes, dividers, foam) to protect contents during handling and transit to the next destination.
Generate and apply precise labels, barcodes, and other identification tags to finished kits, ensuring they are clearly marked for proper tracking, routing, and use.
Maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks to minimize errors, prevent production line downtime, and ensure customer order satisfaction.
Operate with a sense of urgency to meet daily and weekly production targets and deadlines, effectively managing personal workflow and prioritizing tasks.
Stage completed and verified kits in designated areas for seamless hand-off to the production, assembly, or shipping departments.

Secondary Functions

Diligently follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to contribute to a safe and healthy work environment for all team members.
Effectively manage the return-to-stock process for any unused or excess components from the kitting area, ensuring they are properly documented and returned to inventory.
Collaborate with team members and support other warehouse departments, including receiving, picking, or shipping, as needed to meet overall operational goals.
Report any process discrepancies, inventory inaccuracies, or potential areas for improvement to the team lead or supervisor to support continuous improvement efforts.
