Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints, 2D/3D CAD models, and technical specifications to produce knife components with extreme precision.
- Set up, program, and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, and wire EDMs, to fabricate blades, handles, and internal mechanisms.

- Perform critical heat treatment processes, including hardening, cryo-treating, and tempering of various high-carbon and stainless steels to achieve desired hardness (HRC) and grain structure.
- Utilize a wide range of precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators, to verify that component dimensions adhere to strict tolerance requirements.
- Masterfully assemble individual components—blades, liners, scales, and hardware—ensuring perfect fit, finish, and smooth mechanical function for folding and fixed-blade knives.
- Apply meticulous hand-finishing skills, including deburring, sanding, polishing, and stonewashing, to create cosmetically flawless and functionally superior finished products.
- Select appropriate raw materials, such as tool steels, titanium, and handle composites (G10, Carbon Fiber), based on project requirements for performance and durability.
- Fabricate, modify, and maintain custom jigs, fixtures, and dies necessary to support efficient and repeatable production processes.
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final quality control inspections to identify and rectify any defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery, tooling, or production processes, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and material waste.
- Operate and maintain laser engraving or marking equipment to apply branding, logos, and serialization to finished blades.
- Shape, fit, and finish various handle materials to the knife tang or frame, ensuring ergonomic comfort and seamless integration.
