Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute the complete setup and configuration of industrial knitting machines (e.g., Stoll, Shima Seiki) based on detailed technical specifications and production schedules.
- Perform complex and time-sensitive style changes, including comprehensive needle and sinker replacements, cylinder or bed adjustments, and yarn carrier path modifications.
- Proactively monitor all aspects of machine operation to identify and correct fabric defects such as dropped stitches, ladders, press-offs, and yarn inconsistencies in real-time.
- Conduct in-depth diagnostic troubleshooting on complex mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems to pinpoint root causes of machine failures and minimize production downtime.
- Implement a rigorous preventative maintenance schedule, involving systematic cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of high-wear components to ensure machine longevity and reliability.
- Interpret intricate design schematics, pattern files, and work orders to ensure the precise execution of knit structures, colors, and garment dimensions.
- Make meticulous adjustments to machine parameters, including stitch density, yarn tension, takedown rates, and carriage speed, to achieve the exact desired fabric quality and hand-feel.
- Perform first-piece and in-process quality control inspections, using measurement tools and visual checks to guarantee that output conforms strictly to quality assurance standards.
- Skillfully repair broken yarn ends, straighten or replace bent needles, and clear yarn-related jams during active production to prevent material waste and fabric flaws.
- Operate knitting machine programming software to load, modify, and manage knit patterns, ensuring the correct design files are running for each production order.
- Maintain highly accurate and detailed daily production logs, maintenance records, and quality control reports for performance tracking and process traceability.
- Rebuild and replace major machine components, such as knitting heads, cam box sections, and electronic boards, as part of scheduled overhauls or significant repairs.
- Calibrate sensitive electronic sensors, feeders, and actuators to ensure the machinery is operating within tight technical specifications for consistent output.
- Manage the supply of yarn to assigned machines, ensuring the correct cone, color, and material type is staged and ready to prevent interruptions in production runs.

- Mechanical & Electronic Aptitude: Proven ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical issues (gears, belts, cams) and electronic faults (sensors, boards, wiring).
