Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Orchestrate the complete laundry process, managing the flow of soiled linens from collection points to their final destination as clean, pressed, and neatly folded stock, ready for redistribution.
- Meticulously sort all incoming soiled linen, uniforms, and textiles, identifying items requiring special treatment, pre-soaking, or specific stain removal procedures to maximize their lifespan.
- Operate and supervise the use of heavy-duty commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and pressers, ensuring proper loading, cycle selection, and chemical dosage for optimal cleaning and fabric care.
- Conduct rigorous and consistent quality control inspections on all processed items, checking for persistent stains, damages, or wear and tear, and segregating items for rewash, repair, or condemnation.
- Manage and maintain a precise inventory of all linen, terry, and uniform stock, conducting regular physical counts and reconciling them with system records to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages.
- Coordinate the daily work assignments and schedules for a team of laundry attendants, providing clear direction and support to ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate operational logs, documenting daily poundage processed, chemical consumption, discarded items, and equipment performance for reporting and analysis.
- Liaise directly with external laundry service providers if applicable, coordinating pickup and delivery schedules and verifying the quality and quantity of returned items against invoices.
- Implement and enforce all health and safety protocols within the laundry facility, including proper handling of chemicals and biohazardous materials, to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Address and resolve any laundry-related issues or special requests from other departments, demonstrating a customer-service-oriented approach to internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the distribution of clean linens and uniforms to various departments according to their established par levels and daily requirements.
- Train new and existing laundry staff on standard operating procedures, equipment use, safety guidelines, and quality standards to build a competent and effective team.
- Monitor the supply levels of all laundry chemicals and cleaning agents, placing orders as needed to prevent any disruption in the washing process.

- Manage the uniform program, including fitting new employees, tracking uniform issuance and returns, and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.

- Act as the primary point of contact for all laundry-related inquiries, providing clear and professional communication to team members and other department heads.
