Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Steer the industrial design vision and strategy for key product categories, ensuring alignment with brand values, user needs, and business objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process for multiple projects simultaneously, from initial brainstorming and user research to detailed 3D development and production hand-off.
  • Generate a wide spectrum of creative concepts, expertly communicating them through compelling sketches, high-fidelity renderings, and detailed presentations.
  • Act as a mentor and guide for junior and mid-level industrial designers, fostering their growth through constructive feedback, design reviews, and skill development.

  • Collaborate intimately with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to navigate technical constraints and find innovative solutions that uphold the design intent.
  • Champion a deep understanding of the end-user by leading and participating in user research, ethnographic studies, and usability testing to gather actionable insights.
  • Develop and define the Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) strategy for new products, creating specifications that enhance product value and user experience.
  • Oversee the creation and iteration of physical prototypes, from rough foam mock-ups to high-fidelity appearance models, to validate ergonomics, form, and user interaction.
  • Articulate and present design concepts, strategies, and detailed proposals with confidence and clarity to a wide range of audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Stay at the forefront of design, technology, and manufacturing trends, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative processes to the team.
  • Liaise directly with overseas and domestic manufacturing partners to review tooling, approve samples, and solve production challenges, ensuring the final product is true to the design vision.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines for the industrial design portion of projects, managing resources effectively to meet critical deadlines.
  • Translate complex product requirements and abstract brand attributes into tangible, desirable, and manufacturable product forms.
  • Take full ownership of the aesthetic and ergonomic quality of the final product, making critical design decisions throughout the development process.

Secondary Functions

  • Support product marketing teams by providing high-quality visual assets and product narratives for launches and promotional campaigns.
