Primary Functions

- Install, commission, and test new industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing systems and compliance with safety standards.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior mechanics and technicians, providing on-the-job guidance and sharing technical expertise to build team capability.
- Champion and enforce all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash, and machine guarding procedures, to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Read and interpret complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints to facilitate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Manage and document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and labor time within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure data integrity for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations departments on continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, performance, and operator safety.
- Perform precision maintenance tasks such as machine alignment, component balancing, and tolerance verification using specialized tools like laser alignment systems and micrometers.
- Conduct welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), fabrication, and basic machining tasks to create or repair custom parts, brackets, and machine guarding as needed.
- Inspect and maintain facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, air compressors, water treatment systems, and building structural components.
- Interface with equipment manufacturers and technical support to resolve highly complex or recurring issues that exceed internal capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and system optimizations, preparing justifications and participating in the capital project planning process.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for maintenance tasks to ensure consistency and quality of work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and work area, upholding 5S principles and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Lead shift-to-shift hand-off meetings, clearly communicating the status of ongoing repairs, pending work orders, and any critical equipment issues.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems, including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and power transmission components.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot circuits up to 480V 3-phase, read electrical schematics, and work with VFDs, servos, and motors.
