Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the technical aspects of the sales cycle, from initial discovery and qualification to solution design, final presentation, and post-sale handover to the implementation team.
  • Partner with enterprise account executives to develop and execute effective sales strategies, providing technical guidance and risk assessment for high-value, complex opportunities.
  • Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to meticulously uncover, understand, and document their business requirements, technical environments, and critical pain points.
  • Architect and design innovative, scalable, and robust solutions by mapping client needs to the company's product capabilities, often involving integrations with third-party systems.
  • Develop and deliver compelling, customized, and high-impact product demonstrations and proofs-of-concept (POCs) that clearly articulate the solution's value proposition to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Take ownership of the technical response to formal requests, including RFIs (Requests for Information), RFPs (Requests for Proposal), and security questionnaires, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strategic positioning.
  • Act as the primary technical subject matter expert and trusted advisor for prospective clients throughout the evaluation process, building strong relationships and establishing credibility.
  • Proactively identify and address potential technical objections, competitive threats, and implementation hurdles, positioning our solution favorably against alternatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to channel critical feedback from the field, influencing the product roadmap and ensuring future offerings align with market demands.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level solution engineers, sharing knowledge, providing deal support, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of reusable technical assets, including demonstration scripts, solution architectures, best practice guides, and competitive intelligence materials.
  • Articulate the company's technical vision and solution differentiation at industry events, webinars, and executive briefing sessions to drive thought leadership and brand awareness.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of the competitive landscape and be able to effectively differentiate the company's solutions on a technical and business level.
  • Lead the build-out of complex, multi-product demonstration environments and ensure they remain current and effective for showcasing advanced use cases.
  • Facilitate solution validation and scoping workshops with clients and professional services teams to ensure a smooth and successful transition from pre-sales to post-sales.
  • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of technical sales opportunities in conjunction with the sales team to ensure resources are focused on the most strategic deals.
  • Provide strategic oversight on key accounts, ensuring the proposed technical solutions align with the client's long-term business goals and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Train and enable the broader sales organization on the technical aspects of new product features and releases, empowering them to have more effective initial conversations.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for process improvement within the pre-sales organization to increase efficiency, scalability, and overall win rates.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in internal strategy meetings, translating complex technical requirements and market trends into actionable business insights.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Solution Architecture & Design: Deep expertise in designing complex, multi-system enterprise solutions, including a strong understanding of integration patterns, data modeling, and security principles.
  • Cloud Computing Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services (compute, storage, serverless, networking).

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 8-12+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solution engineering, sales engineering, or solution architecture.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a senior or lead capacity, with demonstrated experience mentoring others and leading the technical strategy on large, complex deals. Experience within a specific industry vertical (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail) is highly desirable.
