Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Organize and control all clean linen storage spaces, maintaining an orderly and accessible inventory for daily operational needs.
- Coordinate the receiving, sorting, and distribution of soiled linen, towels, uniforms and other textile supplies throughout the facility.
- Inspect incoming clean linen for quality, stains, discoloration or damage and report discrepancies or quality issues.
- Stock and organize clean linen in designated areas, shelving, racks or carts to support housekeeping workflows.
- Monitor and maintain accurate linen count records, inventory logs, and distribution reports for housekeeping or operations management.
- Separate and manage stained, damaged, or substandard linens, coordinating rewashing, stain treatment, or removal from service.
- Conduct regular inventories and linen counts to ensure adequate supplies and initiate restocking or reorder requests.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery of soiled and clean linen with laundry service providers, ensuring schedules and quantities align with operational demands.
- Maintain linen control logs and ensure that distribution and usage records are updated accurately daily.
- Communicate and collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, F&B and other departments to meet linen needs efficiently.
- Track and report on linen usage trends, losses, and discrepancies to support budget and procurement decisions.
- Follow and enforce linen room security procedures, ensuring locked storage when unattended and confidential handling of all items.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within linen storage and work areas in accordance with health, safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Provide daily stain and damaged linen reports to housekeeping leadership for action and tracking.
- Assist with special linen projects, deep cleaning campaigns, or emergency linen redistribution efforts.
- Support training of new linen room staff on procedures, inventory protocols, and quality standards.
- Respond to guest or departmental linen requests and resolve issues or inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Maintain accurate records of lost and found items, reporting irregularities or unusual circumstances.
- Separate and stage linens for rewash, tailoring, repair or disposal based on condition and policy.
- Participate in monthly linen inventories and assist with data entry into housekeeping or inventory management systems.
