Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Design and develop intimate apparel collections from concept through final prototype, ensuring creative and technical excellence.
  2. Conduct extensive trend research, market analysis, and consumer insights to inform seasonal lingerie concepts and product direction.
  3. Generate mood boards, hand sketches, and technical CAD drawings using Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools to capture creative intent.
  4. Select appropriate fabrics, trims, elastic, lace, hardware and materials that balance comfort, durability, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
  5. Prepare and maintain detailed tech packs, specifications, measurements, construction notes, and grade rules for production.
  6. Collaborate with pattern makers and fit technicians to create prototypes, conduct fit sessions, and refine garments for a range of body types.
  7. Lead design reviews with product development, merchandising, and production teams to ensure design intent is commercially viable.
  8. Track styles through the design process, ensuring samples meet technical, aesthetic, and quality expectations.
  9. Liaise with internal stakeholders, buyers, and offshore factories to manage sampling, feedback loops, and revisions.
  10. Develop lingerie ranges that align with brand positioning, customer demographic, and seasonal business goals.
  11. Review product feedback, performance data, and returns insights to iterate and improve design outcomes.
  12. Present design concepts and completed collections to cross‑functional teams, buyers, or executives with compelling storytelling.
  13. Ensure adherence to cost targets, material budgets, and quality standards without compromising design intent.
  14. Coordinate fittings with models or fit technicians and adjust designs to enhance comfort, support, and wearability.
  15. Maintain knowledge of garment construction, sizing systems, grading rules, and intimate apparel engineering.
  16. Build and maintain long‑term relationships with material suppliers, trim vendors, and manufacturing partners.
  17. Attend fashion shows, trend seminars, and industry events to stay ahead of competitors’ innovations and market shifts.
  18. Contribute to seasonal line planning, color story development, and assortment balancing.
  19. Support sustainability initiatives by recommending eco‑friendly materials and production processes.
  20. Mentor junior designers, interns, or assistants to foster design excellence and technical skill development.

Educational Background
