Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Review loan files and executed closing documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance prior to funding.
  2. Verify that all funding conditions, investor prerequisites and internal checklists are met before initiating disbursement of funds.
  3. Coordinate with loan origination, underwriting, closing agents, title companies and settlement agents to schedule and confirm funding.
  4. Request, balance and authorize wire transfers, cashier’s checks and other disbursement methods in accordance with funding requirements.
  5. Ensure timely and accurate funding of loan proceeds to borrowers, sellers and third‑party vendors.
  6. Upload funded loans into loan origination systems (LOS) and banking platforms, ensuring accurate entry and documentation.
  7. Maintain detailed and organized records of funded transactions, reconciled entries and electronic files.
  8. Resolve discrepancies, document errors and funding issues in the loan file by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  9. Communicate funding status, timelines and requirements to loan officers, borrowers and internal teams.
  10. Reconcile daily funding reports and wire amounts to ensure accuracy and financial integrity.
  11. Maintain compliance with company policies, federal/state lending laws and investor guidelines throughout the funding process.
  12. Track and report post‑closing deliverables and required documents, following up on missing items until complete.
  13. Assist in preparing and delivering post‑funding packages to investors or secondary market partners if applicable.
  14. Support special projects related to funding process improvements and procedural enhancements.
  15. Participate in training sessions and process documentation efforts to ensure consistent performance.
  16. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of lending industry trends, compliance changes and technology platforms.
  17. Respond to internal and external inquiries about funding status and procedures with professionalism.
  18. Assist with tax reporting, lien position verification and other regulatory compliance checks.
  19. Review and ensure accurate calculation of funding worksheet entries and general ledger (GL) records.
  20. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to documentation retention policies.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad‑hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements.
