Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Analyze detailed loan applications, financial statements, credit reports and supporting documentation to assess borrower creditworthiness and risk.
  2. Conduct thorough due diligence on loan requests to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  3. Prepare detailed written loan assessments, credit analysis reports, risk summaries and recommendations for approval, modification or denial.
  4. Evaluate financial ratios, cash flow projections, credit scores and collateral value to determine appropriate loan terms, interest rates and repayment schedules.
  5. Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters and credit committees to review, structure and finalize loan proposals.
  6. Monitor existing loan portfolios for performance, covenant compliance and early warning indicators, alerting stakeholders to emerging risks.
  7. Review and validate loan documentation, title commitments, insurance certificates, appraisals and closing deliverables.
  8. Track loan payments, amortization schedules, prepayments, fees and interest accruals to ensure accurate records and financial integrity.
  9. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date loan files, databases and systems for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  10. Communicate with borrowers, brokers and internal partners to request additional information and clarify loan application details.
  11. Identify and assess credit risks using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and recommend mitigation strategies.
  12. Assist in preparing presentations and summaries for senior management and risk committees.
  13. Coordinate with legal, compliance and operations teams to ensure adherence to fair lending, anti‑money laundering and other regulatory standards.
  14. Support the loan closing process by verifying accuracy of closing documents, coordinating funding and tracking settlement activities.
  15. Participate in portfolio review meetings to discuss trends, performance issues and recommended actions.
  16. Conduct trend analysis on industry, market and borrower financial data to support risk modeling and decision‑making.
  17. Maintain expert understanding of internal credit policy, banking regulations and economic conditions affecting loan products.
  18. Assist with system enhancements and reporting automation to improve efficiency of loan analysis workflows.
  19. Deliver ad‑hoc analytics and reporting to support strategic initiatives and audit activities.
  20. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team knowledge sharing and training efforts.
