Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Organize and maintain the appearance of the dealership or facility lot by parking, arranging and repositioning vehicles according to display standards.
Clean and detail vehicles inside and out, including washing, vacuuming and polishing to ensure customer‑ready presentation.
Assist sales and service teams by preparing vehicles for delivery to customers, including fueling and final inspection checks.
Verify receipt of incoming vehicles, conduct damage inspections and document any issues against delivery documentation.
Compare serial numbers (VINs) of new inventory against invoices or shipping manifests to ensure accuracy.
Assign stock control numbers and place buyer guides, stock tags and window stickers on vehicles.
Catalog, organize and maintain secure control of vehicle keys and key boxes for efficient access and inventory control.
Move sold or service‑ready vehicles to and from designated locations, lots, service departments or delivery areas.
Perform lot maintenance tasks including snow removal, debris cleanup, sweeping and general lot safety checks to maintain accessibility and presentation.
Support periodic inventory audits, count vehicles and report location discrepancies to management.
Fuel vehicles, drive to filling stations as required and ensure fluids and tire pressures are at appropriate levels.
Inspect vehicles for readiness, checking paint, trim, tires, interior condition and accessory presence before putting them on display.
Secure vehicle inventory at the end of shifts or overnight to protect against theft, damage or environmental risk.
Deliver inventory between locations, lots or storage facilities as requested by management.
Assist in receiving and unloading trailers, trucks or freight deliveries when needed.
Prepare vehicles and corresponding paperwork for delivery to customers or other dealerships.
