Primary Functions
- Expertly operate the online lottery terminal and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer selections for draw games (e.g., Powerball, Mega Millions) and instant scratch-off tickets.
- Provide friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable customer service, clearly explaining the rules, odds, and prize structures of various lottery games to assist customers in their selections.
- Accurately handle and process high-volume cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring a balanced and reconciled cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Meticulously validate and scan winning tickets using the official lottery terminal to determine prize amounts and authenticity.
- Process and pay out winning prizes up to the authorized retail limit, following all security and verification procedures to prevent fraud.
- Maintain a deep and current knowledge of all active lottery games, promotions, jackpot amounts, and drawing schedules to provide accurate information to customers.
- Proactively engage customers by promoting new scratch-off games, upcoming jackpots, and special lottery promotions to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Strictly enforce and adhere to all state and federal lottery regulations, including the age verification (e.g., 18+ or 21+) of all customers purchasing lottery products.
