Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Expertly and safely operate a variety of powered industrial trucks (LTOs), such as sit-down counterbalance forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks, to facilitate the movement of goods.
Efficiently load and unload freight from trailers, shipping containers, and rail cars, ensuring proper stacking, securing, and weight distribution to prevent damage during transit.
Accurately transport and put away incoming inventory, raw materials, and finished goods from receiving docks to designated storage racks, shelves, or bulk locations.
Execute order fulfillment duties with high precision by picking products from storage locations using RF scanning technology to verify items and quantities for customer orders.
Stage and consolidate picked orders in designated packing or shipping lanes, ensuring all components of an order are together and correctly identified.
Perform systematic replenishment of picking locations by moving stock from reserve or overstock areas to ensure inventory availability for order selectors.
Conduct routine pre-operation and post-operation safety and maintenance checks on all assigned LTO equipment, reporting any malfunctions, damages, or necessary repairs immediately.
Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) via handheld RF scanners or vehicle-mounted terminals to process transactions, confirm movements, and maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation and material handling.
Maintain a clear and logical organization of the warehouse floor, keeping aisles and staging areas free of obstructions to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
Carefully inspect inbound and outbound shipments for any signs of damage, overages, or shortages, and report discrepancies to a supervisor or the inventory control team.
Manually lift, move, and stack products or materials as needed, often involving weights up to 50 pounds, either independently or as part of a team.
Wrap and secure pallets with stretch wrap, banding, or other materials to ensure stability and safety for storage and transportation.
Assist in organizing and managing dock flow, coordinating with truck drivers and shipping/receiving personnel to ensure timely and orderly loading and unloading.
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, logs, and documentation related to inventory movement, shipments, and equipment checks.
Rotate stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or other specified inventory management principles to minimize spoilage and obsolescence.
Participate in the physical consolidation and reorganization of warehouse storage locations to optimize space utilization and improve operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors regarding operational status, potential issues, and workflow coordination.
Handle hazardous materials according to established safety protocols and regulations, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transportation.
Prepare and configure outbound pallets and shipments to meet specific customer requirements, including labeling, packing slip attachment, and special handling instructions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Valid and current LTO/Forklift Operator Certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, order picker).
Proficiency in operating various types of powered industrial trucks.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) software.
Competency in using handheld RF (Radio Frequency) scanners and devices.
