Primary Functions

- Install and plumb complete pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including the careful routing and connection of hoses, tubing, fittings, and valves, ensuring leak-free and secure operation.
- Mount and integrate a variety of critical components such as motors, pumps, sensors, gearboxes, and control panels onto the main machine frame, ensuring proper alignment and securement.
- Conduct comprehensive in-process quality checks and functional tests on sub-assemblies and final products to ensure they meet all operational requirements and stringent quality standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and methodically resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic issues that arise during the assembly, integration, and testing phases of production.
- Collaborate directly with engineering and quality assurance teams to identify and document root causes of assembly problems, actively participating in the development of effective corrective actions.
- Perform system-level testing and machine start-up procedures, verifying a full range of machine functions and performance metrics to validate operational readiness before shipment.
- Make necessary adjustments, calibrations, and modifications to assemblies to correct malfunctions or deviations from specifications, documenting all changes for engineering review.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of the entire assembly process, including the completion of work orders, inspection reports, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Provide direct, actionable feedback to the engineering department by redlining drawings and suggesting improvements to designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly efficiency.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events, offering valuable suggestions to enhance assembly processes, improve workplace safety, and reduce waste.
- Document all non-conformances and collaborate with the Quality department to ensure proper disposition, rework, and re-inspection procedures are followed to the letter.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and highly organized work environment at all times.
- Manage the inventory of parts and components for assigned builds, coordinating with the materials team to prevent shortages and ensure a smooth, uninterrupted workflow.
- Prepare finished machinery for shipment, a process which may include partial disassembly, crating, securing, and completing final shipping documentation to ensure safe transit.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior assemblers, sharing expert knowledge of best practices, specialized assembly techniques, and critical safety standards.
