Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Assist senior operators with the setup, calibration, and changeover of production machinery according to work orders and manufacturing specifications.
- Actively monitor machine operations to detect and report any malfunctions, deviations, or unusual noises to the lead operator or supervisor promptly.
- Load raw materials, such as plastic pellets, metal blanks, or liquid components, into machine hoppers, feeders, and magazines to ensure continuous production flow.
- Perform regular, in-process quality control checks on parts and finished goods using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet strict quality standards.
- Make minor adjustments to machine settings under the direct supervision of a certified operator to maintain product specifications and operational efficiency.
- Remove finished products from the machine, inspect them for defects, and prepare them for the next stage of production, including packaging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, to transport raw materials and finished goods to and from the production line.
- Accurately complete production logs, quality control forms, and other essential documentation, ensuring all data is recorded clearly and correctly.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in basic preventative maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machine components as directed by the maintenance team or a senior operator.
- Effectively troubleshoot minor machine stoppages and jams, working to resolve them quickly or escalating more complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
Secondary Functions
- Support inventory management by assisting with cycle counts and reporting discrepancies in raw material or component stock levels.
- Participate actively in team meetings, safety briefings, and continuous improvement (Kaizen) events to contribute ideas for enhancing efficiency and safety.
- Manage the disposal and segregation of scrap, waste, and recyclable materials according to established environmental and company procedures.
- Cross-train on various machines and in different production cells to provide versatile support across the facility as needed.
- Verify that the correct materials, components, and tooling are staged and ready for upcoming production runs to minimize downtime during changeovers.
- Assist in packaging, palletizing, and shrink-wrapping finished products to prepare them for shipment or storage in the warehouse.
- Communicate shift hand-offs clearly, providing updates on production status, equipment issues, and any quality concerns to the incoming team.
- Observe and learn advanced operational and troubleshooting techniques from senior operators to build personal skill and prepare for future advancement.

- Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of how machines and tools work.

- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
