Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Administer, manage, and maintain the health and reliability of the enterprise email environment, including Microsoft Exchange Online, Exchange On-Premises, and any related hybrid configurations.
- Perform daily monitoring of messaging infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and prompt resolution of any identified system issues or alerts.

- Handle the full lifecycle of mail-enabled objects, including the creation, modification, and deletion of user mailboxes, distribution lists, security groups, and shared mailboxes in both Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Develop and maintain a library of PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks, generate custom reports, and perform bulk changes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Configure and enforce email retention, archiving, and journaling policies in strict alignment with corporate governance, legal discovery, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support for the IT help desk and end-users, addressing complex technical issues related to email clients (Outlook), mobile access (ActiveSync), and mailbox permissions.
- Plan and execute messaging system upgrades, security patches, and platform migrations, such as on-premise to cloud (Exchange to M365) or tenant-to-tenant migrations, with minimal user disruption.
- Manage and support mobile device management (MDM) policies, particularly through Microsoft Intune, to secure corporate email access on personal and company-owned devices.
- Collaborate directly with the cybersecurity team to investigate and respond to security incidents involving the email system, such as phishing campaigns and business email compromise (BEC) events.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of the messaging environment, including system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery plans.
