Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Plan, lay out, and execute the installation of complex electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications, technical drawings, and local codes.

- Obtain all necessary permits and licenses for electrical work and coordinate with inspectors to ensure all required inspections are scheduled, performed, and successfully passed.
- Install, commission, and service sophisticated electrical equipment, including switchgears, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Implement and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all electrical equipment and systems to maximize reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Respond to high-priority and emergency service calls, performing urgent repairs in a timely and efficient manner to restore power and ensure operational safety.
- Guarantee all work performed strictly adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC), as well as state, and local building regulations, staying current with all code updates.
- Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and installations, including detailed logs of parts used, labor hours, and system test results.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and project managers, coordinating work schedules and providing clear, professional communication on project status.
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of electrical parts, supplies, and tools, ensuring the team is well-equipped for all scheduled and emergency work.
- Utilize and maintain a wide array of power tools, hand tools, and specialized testing equipment, such as meggers, power quality analyzers, and thermal imagers.
- Lead job site safety initiatives, conduct regular safety meetings (toolbox talks), and enforce all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), to foster a zero-accident work environment.
- Design and propose energy-efficient solutions and system upgrades, such as LED lighting retrofits, power factor correction, and building automation controls.
- Perform final testing and commissioning of new electrical installations, verifying complete functionality, safety, and performance before project handover.
