Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and execute a data-informed, long-range merchandising strategy that aligns with company-wide financial targets, brand positioning, and customer demand.
- Lead the creation and curation of seasonal and annual assortment plans, ensuring a balanced, compelling, and profitable product mix across all categories and channels (retail, e-commerce, wholesale).
- Own and manage the full P&L for assigned divisions, meticulously overseeing sales forecasts, gross margin, inventory turn, and overall profitability to meet or exceed budget.
- Direct the comprehensive Open-to-Buy (OTB) process, establishing financial plans and continuously monitoring performance to optimize inventory investment and cash flow.
- Spearhead continuous market and trend analysis, leveraging competitive intelligence, data analytics, and industry insights to identify new product opportunities, white space, and emerging categories.
- Cultivate and manage strategic vendor relationships, leading high-stakes negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, co-op marketing, and exclusive partnerships.
- Establish and enforce a strategic pricing and promotional architecture, including initial markup (IMU), promotional cadence, and markdown optimization to maximize margin and sell-through.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of buyers, planners, and merchandisers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous professional growth.
- Drive seamless collaboration with cross-functional partners in Planning, Marketing, Design, Sourcing, and Visual Merchandising to ensure a cohesive and powerful go-to-market strategy.

- Oversee inventory flow and allocation strategies to ensure optimal stock levels across all channels and locations, minimizing out-of-stocks and mitigating overstock risks.

Required Skills & Competencies
