Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Proactively engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere, identify their needs, and provide personalized product recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Develop and maintain a deep, comprehensive knowledge of all products, including features, benefits, pricing, and brand story, to effectively answer customer inquiries and drive sales.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with accuracy and efficiency, processing various transaction types including cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and returns/exchanges.
- Actively work to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and other performance metrics set by management.
- Execute visual merchandising strategies and directives, ensuring that product displays are aesthetically pleasing, on-brand, and organized to attract customer attention and maximize sales.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor, fitting rooms, and stockroom, performing recovery and replenishment tasks throughout the day.
- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and processing new inventory shipments, ensuring all items are correctly tagged, priced, and placed on the sales floor or in backstock.
- Implement loss prevention procedures to minimize shrinkage, including monitoring the sales floor and reporting any suspicious activity to the management team.
- Inform customers about current promotions, special offers, and loyalty programs to drive sales and encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer complaints and issues with a positive and solution-oriented approach, escalating to a manager when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain a client base through effective relationship building, follow-up communication, and personalized service.
- Assist in the setup and execution of in-store events, product launches, and promotional activities designed to increase foot traffic and sales.
- Manage cash drawer responsibilities, including accurate cash handling, counting down the register at the end of a shift, and reconciling sales totals.
- Continuously restock merchandise on the sales floor from the stockroom to ensure all sizes and styles are available to customers.
- Communicate product and inventory needs to the management team based on customer feedback and sales floor observations.
- Uphold all company policies and operational standards, including opening and closing procedures for the store.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and collectively achieve store objectives.
- Provide a seamless omnichannel experience by assisting customers with online orders, buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS), and other cross-channel services.
- Act as a brand ambassador, embodying the company's values and culture in every customer and team interaction.
- Participate in ongoing training and development sessions to stay current on new products, sales techniques, and company procedures.
- Maintain awareness of store security and safety, ensuring a secure environment for both customers and employees.
Secondary Functions
