Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas for Microsoft solutions, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365.
  • Drive the full sales cycle from initial lead generation and qualification to deal closure, including prospecting, discovery, solution presentation, and negotiation.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting and regular status updates within the company CRM.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key business and IT decision-makers, including C-level executives, to understand their strategic priorities and pain points.
  • Articulate the compelling value proposition of Microsoft's cloud platform and our value-added services, tailored to specific customer needs and industry trends.
  • Lead and orchestrate a virtual team of internal resources, including pre-sales architects, consultants, and marketing, to create comprehensive and winning customer proposals.
  • Conduct high-impact product demonstrations and solution workshops to showcase the capabilities and business outcomes of Microsoft technologies.
  • Master and effectively communicate the competitive landscape, differentiating our offerings from competitors in the market.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, and terms with customers, ensuring a mutually beneficial agreement that drives long-term value.
  • Collaborate closely with Microsoft's own field sales teams and partner development managers to co-sell and drive joint engagement in key accounts.
  • Identify and qualify customer needs for advanced workloads such as Data & AI, application modernization, security, and business applications on the Microsoft cloud.
  • Prepare and deliver professional business proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and responses to RFPs/RFIs.
  • Drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base, expanding the footprint of Microsoft services and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Stay rigorously up-to-date on Microsoft's product roadmaps, licensing models, and incentive programs to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for customers throughout their evaluation process, building credibility and confidence.

Secondary Functions

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide input on go-to-market strategies, campaign development, and lead-generation activities.
  • Provide valuable feedback from the field to product and service development teams to influence future offerings.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and seminars to network, build brand awareness, and generate new leads.
  • Mentor and support junior sales team members, sharing best practices and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progression in the CRM system (e.g., Dynamics 365 Sales).

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep Microsoft Product Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of Microsoft's core cloud offerings, primarily Azure (IaaS/PaaS), Microsoft 365 (including Security & Compliance), and Dynamics 365.
  • Cloud Computing Concepts: Strong grasp of cloud fundamentals (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), hybrid cloud models, and data center migration strategies.
  • CRM Proficiency: Advanced skills in using CRM platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales or Salesforce for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Sales Methodologies: Proven experience applying formal sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, The Challenger Sale, or Solution Selling.
  • Licensing Expertise: Familiarity with complex Microsoft licensing agreements, including Enterprise Agreements (EA), Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), and other purchasing vehicles.
  • Business Case Development: Ability to build and present compelling ROI and TCO analysis to justify technology investments.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant professional experience in technology sales.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a business or technology-related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Sales Solutions).

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 5-10 years
