Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, build, and execute end-to-end SMS and MMS campaigns, from initial copywriting and content sourcing to final deployment and monitoring.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the mobile messaging calendar, ensuring timely and accurate deployment of promotional, transactional, and lifecycle campaigns.
  • Write, edit, and proofread compelling, concise, and on-brand copy for a variety of mobile messaging initiatives, including special offers, new product announcements, and customer alerts.
  • Source, edit, and optimize multimedia assets (images, GIFs, short videos) for use in MMS campaigns to increase engagement and visual appeal.
  • Develop and manage audience segmentation strategies to deliver personalized and relevant content to different customer groups, enhancing the user experience.
  • Conduct rigorous A/B and multivariate tests on message copy, send times, audience segments, and multimedia content to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and unsubscribe rates, providing actionable insights.
  • Set up and maintain automated messaging flows, including welcome series, abandoned cart reminders, post-purchase follow-ups, and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Maintain impeccable list hygiene and database health, regularly cleaning and updating contact lists to ensure high deliverability and compliance.
  • Ensure all mobile messaging activities strictly adhere to industry regulations and best practices, including TCPA, CTIA guidelines, and GDPR.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader marketing, creative, and e-commerce teams to ensure mobile messaging campaigns are aligned with overall business objectives and brand voice.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any campaign-related issues, such as delivery failures or platform glitches, by working with internal teams and external platform vendors.
  • Assist in managing the budget for mobile messaging, tracking spend and reporting on the return on investment (ROI) of various campaigns.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile marketing, SMS/MMS, and customer engagement to propose new ideas.
  • Document all mobile messaging processes, workflows, and campaign results to create a knowledge base for the team and future reference.

Secondary Functions

  • Contribute to the organization's broader data strategy and roadmap by providing insights from the mobile messaging channel.

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Mobile Marketing Platforms: Hands-on proficiency with major SMS/MMS marketing platforms such as Attentive, Postscript, Klaviyo, Twilio, or similar enterprise-level tools.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Strong ability to use tools like Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation, pivot tables, and creating performance dashboards. Experience with BI tools like Tableau or Google Data Studio is a plus.
  • Content Creation Tools: Basic to intermediate skills with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop for creating and resizing images and GIFs for MMS.
  • CRM & E-commerce Platforms: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento) for data integration and audience segmentation.
  • Project Management Software: Experience using tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira to manage tasks, deadlines, and collaborative projects within a team environment.
