Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Own the end-to-end design process for multiple features, from initial discovery and concept exploration through to final handoff and implementation support.
- Translate complex product requirements into intuitive, user-friendly mobile interfaces and workflows for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Create detailed wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity mockups, visual design specifications, and interactive prototypes for new and existing features using tools like Figma or Sketch.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
- Conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews and usability testing, to gather actionable feedback and iterate on design solutions based on user-centered principles.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure brand consistency and a cohesive experience across all mobile applications.
- Create and manage a comprehensive design system and component library to streamline the design and development process and ensure scalability.
- Articulate and defend design decisions to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, using data, user feedback, and design principles to support your rationale.
- Work within an agile environment, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure the timely delivery of design assets.
- Produce pixel-perfect design assets, including icons, illustrations, and other graphics, and prepare them for seamless engineering handoff.
- Rapidly iterate on design concepts based on quantitative data, qualitative feedback from team members, and user testing results.
- Design for accessibility (A11Y), ensuring that our mobile applications are usable by people with a wide range of abilities and meet WCAG standards.
- Partner with developers to ensure the final implemented product faithfully matches the design specifications and provides a polished, high-quality user experience.
- Present design work to the product team, executive leadership, and other stakeholders for review and feedback, clearly communicating the design intent and strategic thinking.

- Perform design reviews and provide constructive feedback to other designers on the team to maintain a high standard of quality and foster a collaborative environment.
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the mobile product roadmap by providing a strong, user-centric design perspective.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- High proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and Principle/Protopie.
- A strong portfolio showcasing proven experience in designing and shipping native iOS and Android applications.
- Deep understanding of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google's Material Design principles and patterns.
- Experience with a variety of user research methodologies, including usability testing, A/B testing, user interviews, and journey mapping.
- Solid knowledge of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals.
