Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute high-quality photo shoots for a diverse range of projects, including e-commerce, editorial spreads, lookbooks, and model portfolio development.
  • Direct models during photoshoots, providing clear and constructive guidance on posing, expression, and movement to capture the desired mood and aesthetic.
  • Expertly set up and manipulate studio lighting equipment, including strobes, softboxes, and reflectors, to create dynamic, flattering, and on-brand lighting schemes.
  • Operate professional-grade digital cameras and lenses, demonstrating a deep understanding of settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to achieve technical excellence in every shot.
  • Collaborate closely with creative directors, stylists, and makeup artists before and during shoots to ensure a cohesive and unified visual outcome that meets the project brief.
  • Perform culling and image selection, meticulously reviewing thousands of captures to identify the most compelling shots that meet technical and creative standards.
  • Execute high-end photo retouching and post-production using software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, including color correction, blemish removal, and composite imaging.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and brand identity across all photographic content, ensuring it aligns with the client's or company's guidelines.
  • Manage the end-to-end workflow for photoshoots, from pre-production planning and scheduling to on-set execution and final asset delivery.
  • Build and curate powerful portfolios for models, selecting and sequencing images to best showcase their range, versatility, and marketability to agencies and clients.
  • Shoot high-volume e-commerce photography on-model, maintaining consistency in lighting, cropping, and style to create a seamless online shopping experience.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in fashion photography, modeling, art direction, and post-production techniques to keep work fresh, modern, and relevant.
  • Ensure all photographic equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and computers, is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working order.
  • Manage and organize a large library of digital assets, implementing a logical file naming and archiving system for easy retrieval and long-term storage.

  • Scout and secure suitable locations for on-location photoshoots that align with the creative concept and logistical requirements of the project.
  • Create detailed mood boards and shot lists to effectively communicate the creative vision and technical plan to the entire production team.
