Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Command and pilot technologically advanced naval aircraft, including high-performance jets, multi-mission helicopters, and long-range maritime patrol aircraft, to accomplish diverse mission objectives.
Execute complex tactical missions such as air-to-air combat, anti-submarine warfare, strategic reconnaissance, close air support, and electronic warfare in highly contested global environments.
Master and perform aircraft carrier takeoffs and landings, a uniquely demanding skill requiring exceptional precision, judgment, and proficiency under extreme physical and mental pressure.
Develop, plan, and brief comprehensive mission scenarios, incorporating intelligence data, weather forecasts, threat analysis, and logistical constraints to ensure maximum mission effectiveness and personnel safety.
Lead and manage a division of enlisted personnel, taking full responsibility for their professional development, training, welfare, morale, and performance evaluations as a Division Officer.
Operate and integrate complex aircraft systems, including advanced avionics, weapons delivery platforms, sensor suites, and communication networks, in real-time tactical situations.
Maintain a state of constant readiness through rigorous and continuous training, including simulator events, classroom instruction, and thousands of flight hours.
Adhere to and enforce all NATOPS (Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization) protocols and safety procedures to mitigate risk in inherently dangerous flight operations.

Secondary Functions

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Successful completion of Officer Candidate School or equivalent commissioning program.

Experience Requirements
