Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively research, identify, and qualify target accounts and key decision-makers within specific industries that align with our ideal customer profile.
  • Initiate meaningful conversations with potential clients through a strategic mix of cold calls, personalized email campaigns, and targeted social media outreach (especially on LinkedIn).
  • Conduct initial discovery calls to understand a prospect's business needs, pain points, and current processes, effectively assessing their potential fit for our solutions.
  • Master and clearly articulate our company's value proposition, tailoring the message to resonate with the specific challenges and goals of each prospect.
  • Secure a consistent pipeline of qualified meetings and product demonstrations for the senior sales team (Account Executives), ensuring they have all the context they need for a successful conversation.
  • Meticulously manage and update all lead and prospect information in our CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to ensure data accuracy and provide clear visibility into the pipeline.
  • Develop and execute creative outreach strategies to penetrate target accounts and nurture leads who may not be ready to purchase immediately.
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for key activities and qualified opportunities generated.
  • Skillfully navigate and overcome initial objections from prospects, turning potential rejections into productive conversations.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality and contribute ideas for more effective demand generation campaigns.

- Build and maintain a well-organized pipeline of early-stage opportunities, forecasting potential deals and tracking progress against your goals.

  • Prepare and present insightful briefs to Account Executives before scheduled meetings, summarizing your discovery findings and recommending next steps.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our products, the competitive landscape, and the industries we serve to engage prospects with credibility.
  • Follow up persistently and professionally with prospects to keep the conversation going and move them through the initial stages of the sales funnel.
  • Analyze your own performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and experiment with new approaches to boost effectiveness.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the senior sales team with ad-hoc reporting and research projects to help them prepare for strategic negotiations or client meetings.
  • Provide valuable frontline feedback and real-world insights to the product and marketing teams to help shape future strategy and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the broader business development team to share best practices, successful tactics, and competitive intelligence.
  • Participate actively in weekly team meetings, sales training sessions, and coaching workshops to continuously sharpen your skills.
  • Occasionally represent the company at virtual or in-person industry events and conferences to network and generate new leads.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • CRM Proficiency: Hands-on experience with or the ability to quickly master a CRM like Salesforce or HubSpot for lead management and tracking.
  • Sales Engagement Tools: Familiarity with platforms like Outreach, SalesLoft, or similar tools used to automate and track outreach sequences.

  • Business Research: The ability to effectively use online resources to gather intelligence on companies, industries, and key personnel.
