Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Assume ultimate responsibility for the entire venue's nightly operations, making decisive, final calls on all significant matters to ensure a smooth, safe, and profitable service.
  • Actively lead, mentor, and manage all front-of-house and back-of-house staff—including security, bartenders, servers, hosts, and support staff—to ensure peak performance and a cohesive team environment.
  • Spearhead the full employee lifecycle, encompassing talent acquisition, comprehensive onboarding, continuous skills training, and regular performance evaluations to cultivate a professional and motivated team.
  • Maintain rigorous financial oversight of the establishment, including the development of annual budgets, forecasting revenue, managing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and analyzing financial reports to drive profitability.
  • Implement and enforce stringent cost-control measures for labor, liquor inventory, and other operational expenses without compromising the quality of the guest experience.
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and monthly stock-taking for liquor, beer, wine, and all other bar supplies to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and entertainers, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring reliable service.
  • Champion an unparalleled guest experience by actively engaging with patrons, resolving complaints with diplomacy and efficiency, and empowering staff to provide proactive, high-touch service.
  • Design, implement, and enforce all security, safety, and risk management protocols to ensure the well-being of all guests and staff, including crowd control and emergency response procedures.
  • Guarantee strict compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including alcohol service laws, health department standards, and occupancy limits.
  • Curate and manage the venue's overall ambiance and atmosphere, including the oversight of music programming, lighting design, and general decor to align with the brand identity.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing and promotions team to conceptualize, plan, and flawlessly execute special events, themed nights, and celebrity appearances.
  • Supervise all cash handling procedures, including nightly reconciliation of point-of-sale systems, bank deposits, and managing the cash float to ensure financial accuracy and security.
  • Ensure the facility is impeccably maintained, clean, and fully operational, coordinating repairs and maintenance for all equipment, fixtures, and the premises itself.
  • Prepare and present regular operational and financial performance reports to ownership, corporate leadership, or other key stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue and enhance guest experience through the strategic management and growth of VIP hosting and bottle service programs.
  • Establish and execute detailed opening and closing procedures for the venue, ensuring all tasks are completed consistently and to a high standard.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker during any crisis or emergency situation, demonstrating calm and effective leadership to mitigate risk and ensure a safe resolution.
  • Create and manage weekly staff schedules based on forecasted business volume, ensuring appropriate staffing levels while controlling labor costs.
  • Proactively manage the venue's public reputation, both online and offline, by monitoring social media, review sites, and fostering positive community relations.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 5-8 years of progressive experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or entertainment venue.
