Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring all items are correctly selected and securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform rigorous quality control checks on all products before and during the packing process, identifying and segregating any damaged, defective, or incorrect items to maintain our high standards.
- Operate RF (Radio Frequency) scanners and other warehouse management system (WMS) handheld devices to track inventory, process orders, and confirm shipment details with exceptional accuracy.
- Generate, print, and meticulously apply shipping labels, packing slips, and any required hazmat or special handling documentation to outbound parcels.
- Consistently meet or exceed established productivity targets and performance metrics for packing speed, order accuracy, and overall throughput without compromising quality or safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work station and surrounding areas, adhering to all safety protocols and 5S principles to ensure an efficient and hazard-free environment.
- Safely palletize, wrap, and stage completed orders in the designated shipping lanes, preparing them for loading onto outbound trailers.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors across the overnight shift to ensure a smooth and continuous workflow from picking to shipping.
- Handle products and packages of various sizes and weights, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing, bending, and walking for the duration of the shift.
- Replenish packing materials, including boxes, tape, dunnage, and labels, at your workstation to ensure you are always prepared for the next order.
- Follow detailed, step-by-step instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packing specific products or fulfilling complex customer requests.
- Escalate any unresolved issues, such as inventory discrepancies, system errors, or safety concerns, to the shift supervisor in a timely manner.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment (MHE) to move products and pallets throughout the facility safely.
- Sort and segregate packages based on carrier, destination, and service level (e.g., overnight, ground) to streamline the loading process.
- Actively participate in all required safety training sessions and apply learned principles to daily tasks to foster a culture of safety and accident prevention.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in conducting cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits to help maintain the accuracy of our warehouse management system.
- Provide constructive feedback on packing processes and workflows, suggesting potential improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, or quality.
- Support the training and onboarding of new night shift team members by demonstrating proper techniques and procedures.
- Flexibly perform duties in other departments, such as picking or receiving, as directed by supervisors to meet fluctuating business demands.
- Contribute to end-of-shift cleaning and organizational tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient handover to the next shift.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- RF Scanner Operation: Proficient in using handheld RF scanning devices for order picking, tracking, and inventory management.
- Material Handling: Experience safely operating manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, or other basic warehouse equipment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-10 hour overnight shift.
- Basic Computer Literacy: Familiarity with using computers to print labels, look up order information, or complete training modules.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Prior experience or the ability to quickly learn and navigate WMS software.
- Packing Expertise: Knowledge of various packing techniques and materials to ensure product safety and integrity.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 0 - 2 years. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are new to the warehouse environment.
Preferred: 6+ months of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment, particularly working an overnight or 3rd shift.
