Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of all night shift employees, including production, maintenance, and logistics staff, to ensure operational goals are achieved.
- Champion and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulations (including OSHA standards) to maintain a secure and hazard-free work environment for the overnight team.
- Monitor workflow and staff productivity throughout the shift, making real-time adjustments to personnel and resources to meet production schedules and efficiency targets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all after-hours emergencies, incidents, and operational issues, demonstrating calm and decisive problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and deliver coaching and mentoring to develop the skills and capabilities of the night shift team.
- Manage employee relations, address grievances, and administer disciplinary action when necessary, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Oversee quality control processes during the shift, ensuring all products and services meet or exceed established standards before leaving the facility.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive end-of-shift reports detailing production numbers, staffing levels, safety incidents, and any unresolved issues for a smooth transition to the day shift management.
- Manage and approve employee timekeeping, attendance records, and requests for time off to ensure accurate payroll and adequate staffing.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, safety reminders, and important company updates to the entire night crew.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency within the night shift operations and present recommendations to senior management.

- WMS/ERP Systems: Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
