Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate and monitor machinery and production equipment throughout the shift, making minor adjustments as needed to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
- Execute the picking, packing, and staging of customer orders with exceptional accuracy, utilizing RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory movement.
- Safely load and unload materials and finished products from trucks and trailers, ensuring proper stacking, securing of cargo, and adherence to weight distribution guidelines.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet stringent company and customer specifications.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the workspace and equipment, upholding 5S/6S principles to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe machinery operation, to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production and activity logs, documenting output, downtime, and any operational issues encountered during the shift for handover to the morning team.
- Collaborate with the overnight team to troubleshoot and resolve operational or mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity targets.
- Manage inventory levels by conducting cycle counts and physical inventories, reporting any discrepancies to the shift supervisor for correction.
- Prepare and organize workstations with the necessary materials and tools required for the upcoming shift, ensuring a seamless transition for the daytime crew.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks in a safe and proficient manner to move materials throughout the facility.
- Monitor facility security during off-peak hours, including checking access points and reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to system alerts and alarms, following established emergency procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and the security of the facility.
- Complete all required end-of-shift reporting, summarizing shift performance, challenges, and key metrics for management review.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new night shift employees, providing guidance on procedures, safety, and operational best practices.
- Ensure all waste and recyclable materials are properly sorted and disposed of according to environmental and company policies.
- Replenish supplies and materials at various workstations to prevent shortages and interruptions in workflow.
- Execute assigned tasks from the shift plan with precision and a sense of urgency, adapting to changing priorities as directed by the Night Shift Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors across shifts to ensure continuity of operations and clear information transfer.
- Independently manage your time and workload to complete all assigned duties within the shift timeframe without direct, constant supervision.
- Participate actively in nightly team meetings to discuss goals, safety topics, and any pertinent operational updates.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)

- RF Scanner Proficiency: Experience using handheld radio-frequency scanners for order picking, packing, and inventory tracking.
- Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments on production machinery.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic data entry and comfortable using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
