Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Monitor network infrastructure, servers, applications and critical systems in real time using specialized NOC tools to detect performance issues, outages or anomalies.
- Respond to network alerts and incidents promptly, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve issues or escalate to senior teams per documented procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network device failures on routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and connectivity links to ensure minimal disruption.
- Perform routine network maintenance tasks including configuration backups, software updates, patches and scheduled reboots to preserve system stability.
- Document all incident activities, resolutions, status updates and changes in ticketing systems to maintain accurate operational history and audit trails.
- Collaborate with IT teams, engineering, security and support staff to coordinate cross‑team troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to network health, uptime, latency and capacity utilization.
- Maintain and update configuration documentation, network diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accessibility and compliance.
- Validate system alerts, suppress false positives, and adjust monitoring thresholds to optimize NOC accuracy.
- Ensure service continuity by managing backup operations, disaster recovery procedures and failover strategies.
- Provide first‑line technical support to internal users and external customers regarding network‑related issues.
