Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for a diverse client population, including in-depth analysis of dietary intake, medical history, lifestyle factors, and biochemical data to identify nutritional risks and needs.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals as a key member of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate and integrate medical and nutritional care plans.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all aspects of client care, including initial assessments, care plans, interventions, and progress notes within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with industry standards.
  • Design and deliver engaging group workshops, community seminars, and corporate wellness presentations on a wide range of relevant nutrition-related topics to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain and continuously expand professional knowledge by staying current with the latest scientific research, clinical guidelines, and emerging trends in the fields of nutrition, dietetics, and food science.
  • Systematically evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs and interventions by tracking client progress, analyzing key outcome data, and making strategic adjustments to care plans as necessary.
  • Create and disseminate high-quality, easy-to-understand educational materials, such as handouts, digital guides, and brochures, to support client learning and reinforce key nutritional concepts.
  • Manage and advise on food service systems to ensure they meet the complex nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of patients or residents in settings like hospitals or long-term care facilities.
  • Provide specialized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for patients with complex medical conditions including diabetes, renal disease, heart disease, oncology, and gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Conduct practical, hands-on education, such as grocery store tours and cooking demonstrations, to teach healthy food selection and preparation methods.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource on nutrition for the organization and the wider community, responding to inquiries and providing expert commentary.
  • Actively participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and research projects aimed at enhancing the delivery of nutritional care and improving patient outcomes.
  • Advocate for public health policies that promote better nutrition, food security, and health access at the local, state, or national level.

Education & Experience

Educational Background
