Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive community outreach strategy that aligns with organizational goals, increases program enrollment, and raises public awareness across targeted neighborhoods and demographics.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of outreach staff and volunteers; create performance plans, conduct regular one-on-ones, and manage corrective actions and professional development.

  • Monitor outreach KPIs (attendance, conversion/enrollment rates, referrals, retention) and deliver monthly and quarterly impact reports with data-driven recommendations for program improvements.
  • Create culturally responsive outreach materials, messaging, and multilingual communications to reach diverse populations and reduce barriers to access.
  • Develop and manage outreach budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective allocation of resources across campaigns and events.
  • Coordinate client referrals and case handoffs with internal program teams and partner organizations to ensure continuity of care and measurable outcomes.
  • Draft, support, and manage grant applications and funder reporting related to outreach activities, leveraging program metrics and success stories to secure funding.
  • Negotiate and execute memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and partnership agreements, defining roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and data-sharing protocols.
  • Supervise logistics for mobile outreach units, home visits, and off-site service delivery including scheduling, transportation, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Represent the organization at community coalitions, public forums, and stakeholder meetings to elevate brand visibility and influence local policy or resource allocation.
  • Develop and deliver staff and volunteer training curricula on outreach best practices, cultural humility, confidentiality (HIPAA/FERPA or local standards), de-escalation, and safety protocols.
  • Respond to escalated community inquiries, complaints, and crisis situations with timely, compassionate, and policy-compliant action; document resolutions and follow-up.

  • Produce routine administrative deliverables including schedules, staffing rosters, outreach calendars, and supply inventories to support day-to-day operations.
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral and community-facing content in collaboration with communications colleagues; coordinate translation services where needed.
  • Support fundraising efforts by identifying community champions, documenting impact stories, and participating in donor cultivation events and presentations.
  • Maintain outreach equipment and materials (tables, tents, brochures, PPE), managing procurement and vendor relationships to ensure readiness for events.
  • Provide backup coverage for direct outreach shifts when staffing gaps occur, modeling best practices for the outreach team.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental coordination (programs, intake, data, finance) to ensure smooth referral pathways and accurate billing or documentation when required.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
