Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct thorough, multi-point inspections of commercial, industrial, and residential properties to identify existing pest populations, potential harborage areas, and conditions conducive to pest activity.
  • Analyze inspection findings, trap data, and historical records to diagnose complex pest problems and identify underlying trends and root causes.
  • Develop, document, and implement customized, data-driven Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans that prioritize non-chemical solutions and prevention.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of ongoing pest control treatments and programs, making data-backed adjustments to improve outcomes and reduce chemical reliance.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all services performed, including pest sightings, products used, application methods, and corrective actions recommended.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for clients, providing clear, concise reports and expert consultation on pest biology, prevention strategies, and sanitation improvements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing pesticide application, storage, and disposal, as well as company safety protocols.
  • Perform precise and targeted applications of pesticides, baits, and traps when necessary, selecting the most appropriate materials and methods for the specific situation.
  • Identify and correctly classify a wide range of pests, including insects, rodents, and other vermin, to determine the most effective control strategy.
  • Install and maintain pest monitoring devices; systematically collect, record, and interpret the data from these devices to monitor activity levels.
  • Prepare detailed analytical reports and presentations for management and clients, summarizing pest trends, program performance, and return on investment.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits on work performed by field technicians to ensure compliance with company standards and IPM protocols.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends, new product technologies, research in entomology, and changes in pest control legislation.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians and facility staff on pest identification, IPM principles, and safety procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve client complaints or concerns with a high degree of professionalism and technical expertise, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of pest control equipment and chemical products, ensuring they are in safe, working order and stored correctly.

  • Pest & Entomological Identification: Expertise in identifying common and uncommon structural pests, their life cycles, and their behaviors.
  • Pesticide Application & Safety: Certified and knowledgeable in the safe and effective handling, mixing, and application of a variety of chemical and biological control agents.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strong familiarity with EPA, FDA, and state/local regulations related to pest management, particularly in sensitive environments like food processing or healthcare.
