Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes to determine optimal work procedures and material requirements for complex projects.
Diagnose challenging plumbing issues and perform effective, lasting repairs on water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials, including copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, and cast iron.
Install, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, water heaters, and garbage disposals.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, such as video camera inspection equipment, to accurately locate blockages, leaks, and breaks in sewer lines.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections on plumbing systems to identify and remediate potential issues before they escalate into major problems.
Install, test, and certify backflow prevention devices to ensure the safety and potability of the water supply in accordance with local regulations.
Respond to emergency plumbing calls in a timely and professional manner, including after-hours and weekend service as part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Manage job site materials and inventory effectively, ordering necessary parts and supplies to ensure projects are completed without delay.
Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment and power tools, such as trenchers, pipe threaders, press tools, and hydro-jetters.
