Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of multiple investment portfolios on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis, performing attribution analysis to identify key drivers of returns versus benchmarks.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to support investment decision-making, including valuation, cash flow forecasting, and various scenario analyses.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports, market commentary, and detailed portfolio reviews for senior management, investment committees, and external clients.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential new investments, different asset classes, and external fund managers, carefully assessing both quantitative and qualitative risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure the absolute accuracy and integrity of portfolio data by working closely with operations and data teams to reconcile discrepancies and continuously improve data quality.
  • Assist in the strategic and tactical rebalancing of portfolios to maintain alignment with target asset allocations, investment guidelines, and client-specific risk parameters.
  • Evaluate and monitor a wide range of portfolio risk exposures, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk, utilizing various quantitative tools and risk management systems.
  • Stay consistently abreast of macroeconomic trends, global market developments, and industry news to provide timely, relevant insights that inform and shape investment strategy.
  • Collaborate directly with portfolio managers to help formulate investment strategies and construct well-diversified portfolios that meet specific client objectives and constraints.
  • Generate pre-trade and post-trade compliance reports to ensure all investment activities strictly adhere to regulatory requirements and client-specific restrictions.
  • Perform detailed attribution analysis to dissect portfolio returns into their core components, such as asset allocation, security selection, and currency effects.
  • Create custom analytics and intuitive dashboards using data visualization tools to clearly communicate portfolio characteristics, performance metrics, and risk factors to diverse stakeholders.
  • Respond to a variety of ad-hoc analytical requests from portfolio managers, clients, and other internal teams in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Participate actively in the development and enhancement of proprietary analytical tools, systems, and reporting frameworks to boost efficiency and analytical capabilities.
  • Maintain and meticulously update investment policy statements (IPS), client guidelines, and all compliance-related documentation for managed portfolios.
  • Support the trade execution and settlement process by preparing trade orders, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and monitoring for successful completion.

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden trends or answer novel business questions.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader data strategy and technology roadmap by identifying gaps and opportunities in portfolio analytics capabilities.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel: Demonstrated mastery of Excel for financial modeling, including complex formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH), pivot tables, data tables, and VBA macros.
  • Quantitative & Statistical Analysis: Strong quantitative aptitude with a solid foundation in financial mathematics, statistics, and their application to investment analysis.
  • Investment Platforms: Hands-on experience with investment management software and financial data providers such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, or similar platforms.
  • Database Querying: Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from relational databases.
  • Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to build insightful and user-friendly dashboards and reports.
  • Programming Languages: Working knowledge of a programming language for data analysis, preferably Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy) or R.

Education & Experience
