Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Oversee the entire print production lifecycle for all company projects, including marketing collateral, direct mail, packaging, signage, and promotional items, ensuring flawless execution from concept to completion.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with a diverse network of external print vendors, negotiating favorable pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), and long-term contracts to ensure optimal value and quality.
- Develop and execute detailed RFQs (Request for Quotes) and RFPs (Request for Proposals), analyzing bids to select the best vendor for each project based on capabilities, cost, quality, and turnaround time.
- Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures, including conducting on-site and remote press checks, meticulously reviewing proofs, and inspecting final products to guarantee they meet brand standards and project specifications.
- Act as the primary technical advisor and point of contact for all internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Creative, Sales), providing expert guidance on print feasibility, substrate selection, finishing options, and cost-saving alternatives.
- Develop, manage, and track the annual print budget, providing regular financial reporting, forecasting expenses, and proactively identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Source, vet, and onboard new printing suppliers, technologies, and materials to continuously innovate and enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the print supply chain.
- Traffic all print jobs through the production pipeline, creating and managing detailed project timelines, proactively communicating status updates, and resolving any potential delays to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Manage the prepress and file preparation process, including performing technical file reviews, pre-flighting, and collaborating with designers to ensure all artwork is press-ready and optimized for the intended print method.
- Troubleshoot and definitively resolve any issues related to print quality, color management, file integrity, shipping logistics, or vendor performance.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various printing processes, including digital, offset, large format, flexography, and specialty techniques (e.g., embossing, foil stamping).
- Coordinate complex mailing and distribution campaigns, ensuring all components are produced correctly and delivered on time, while adhering to postal regulations and data management best practices.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Expert Knowledge of Print Production: Deep understanding of offset, digital, large format, and specialty printing processes, as well as finishing and binding techniques.
- Color Management Expertise: Proficiency with color theory, Pantone Matching System (PMS), CMYK/RGB color spaces, and G7 calibration standards.
