Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead comprehensive analysis of existing ("as-is") business processes by conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and direct observation to create a detailed understanding of current workflows.
  • Design, model, and document optimized future-state ("to-be") processes that align with strategic business goals, enhance efficiency, and improve user experience.
  • Systematically identify process gaps, pain points, bottlenecks, and areas of redundancy through rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Develop and present compelling business cases for process improvement initiatives, clearly articulating potential benefits, costs, risks, and expected ROI to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional process improvement workshops, guiding diverse groups of stakeholders toward consensus on problem definition and solution design.
  • Create and maintain detailed, professional-quality process documentation, including flowcharts, process maps (using BPMN), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Define, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to measure the effectiveness of processes before and after improvement initiatives are implemented.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis (e.g., using 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to understand the fundamental drivers of process failures and prevent recurrence.
  • Act as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams (IT, Engineering) to translate business needs into functional requirements for system changes or implementations.
  • Support change management efforts by communicating process changes effectively, developing training materials, and providing support to end-users during transition periods.
  • Monitor the performance of newly implemented processes, gathering feedback and data to ensure they are delivering the expected benefits and making further adjustments as needed.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the organization by promoting methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen in daily operations.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to uncover trends, patterns, and insights within process data, providing a factual basis for improvement recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and impactful presentations and reports to communicate analysis, findings, and recommendations to a wide range of audiences, from team members to executives.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert (SME) on specific business processes, providing guidance and clarity to project teams, auditors, and new employees.
  • Evaluate the impact of proposed organizational changes, new technologies, or regulatory requirements on existing business processes and recommend necessary adaptations.
  • Manage a portfolio of process improvement opportunities, assisting leadership in prioritizing initiatives based on strategic importance, effort, and potential impact.
  • Perform value stream mapping to visualize the flow of materials and information required to bring a product or service to a customer, identifying non-value-added activities.
  • Develop and manage a central process repository or knowledge management system to ensure that process documentation is accessible, up-to-date, and consistently formatted.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk departments to ensure that all business processes adhere to internal policies, industry standards, and government regulations.
