Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop detailed, end-to-end process maps and value stream maps for key operational workflows to visually represent the current state and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct comprehensive time and motion studies on the production floor or within business operations to establish baseline performance metrics and identify bottlenecks.
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to process performance, quality, and cycle times to identify trends, root causes, and areas of significant waste.
- Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and logistics, to gather qualitative insights and validate data-driven findings.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Kaizen events and other continuous improvement workshops aimed at driving rapid, focused change.
- Create and maintain standard work instructions, procedural documents, and visual aids to ensure process changes are sustained and consistently followed.
- Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency.
- Develop and present clear, concise reports and dashboards for management, summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs), project progress, and the impact of implemented solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on process failures, quality defects, or safety incidents using methodologies like Fishbone diagrams or the 5 Whys.
- Assist project managers in defining project scopes, objectives, and deliverables for process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and propose new tools, technologies, or software that could enhance process monitoring, analysis, and overall operational efficiency.
- Design and run small-scale pilots or experiments to test the feasibility and impact of proposed process changes before full-scale implementation.
- Analyze facility layouts and material flow to recommend optimizations that reduce travel time, minimize handling, and improve overall throughput.
- Participate in daily team huddles and production meetings to stay aligned with operational priorities and provide updates on improvement activities.
- Document "before and after" scenarios with quantifiable data to clearly demonstrate the return on investment (ROI) of process improvement projects.
- Assist in the development of training materials for new processes and support the training of frontline employees to ensure successful adoption.
- Conduct benchmark studies by researching industry best practices to identify innovative approaches applicable to our organization.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor process stability and capability over time.
- Support the maintenance and configuration of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure it accurately reflects optimized workflows.
- Identify opportunities for ergonomic improvements within workstations to enhance employee safety, comfort, and productivity.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)

- Data Analysis: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas); experience with statistical software (Minitab, R) is a plus.
- Lean/Six Sigma: Foundational knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis).
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with creating dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
