Core Responsibilities

A Project Intern's duties are diverse and provide a comprehensive learning experience. They are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute across the entire project lifecycle.

Primary Functions

  • Assist Senior Project Managers in the detailed planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of various strategic projects.
  • Actively support the creation and diligent maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, schedules, and status reports.
  • Help track project progress against established timelines and milestones using industry-standard project management software (like Jira or Asana).
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project team members by scheduling key meetings, preparing detailed agendas, and distributing concise meeting minutes.
  • Conduct targeted research and data analysis to support informed project decision-making and help identify potential risks or new opportunities.
  • Prepare and help deliver engaging presentations on project status, key findings, and final outcomes to internal stakeholders and team members.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, assisting with the tracking and reporting of financial performance against the approved plan.
  • Coordinate essential project activities, tasks, and resources to ensure all components are completed on schedule and within scope.
  • Engage with various cross-functional teams (such as Engineering, Marketing, and Finance) to gather business requirements and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Develop and regularly update detailed project schedules and GANTT charts, highlighting task dependencies and critical path activities.
  • Assist in the risk management process by helping to identify, log, and monitor potential project risks and their mitigation plans.
  • Create process flow diagrams, wireframes, and other visual aids to clarify complex workflows and simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Secondary Functions

  • Provide crucial administrative support to the project team, including digital file management, data entry, and handling professional correspondence.
  • Actively participate in project review meetings and retrospectives to discuss progress, challenges, and capture valuable lessons learned.
  • Support the quality assurance (QA) process by helping to test deliverables, document bugs, and track reported issues through to resolution.
