Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop, implement, and rigorously maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure full compliance with critical industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949.
- Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and proactive problem-solving.
- Establish and enforce robust quality assurance standards, in-process controls, and finished product inspection procedures across all stages of the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Champion and oversee the root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes to systematically investigate non-conformances, implement effective solutions, and prevent recurrence.
- Manage the comprehensive internal and external audit programs, serving as the lead point of contact for customer and regulatory agency audits and ensuring the timely closure of all findings.
- Drive strategic continuous improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen events to enhance product quality, reduce operational waste, and boost process efficiency.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as scrap rates, first pass yield, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and customer complaint data to senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain departments to seamlessly integrate quality requirements into new product development (NPD) and process change management.
- Direct the supplier quality assurance program, including supplier selection, auditing, performance monitoring, and development activities to cultivate a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance program for all measurement and test equipment to guarantee accuracy and compliance with established metrology standards.
- Foster a customer-centric approach to quality by ensuring that customer feedback and warranty claims are methodically analyzed and translated into actionable product and process improvements.
- Develop and manage the quality department's annual budget, allocating resources effectively to support strategic quality objectives and operational demands.
- Serve as the final authority on product release, ensuring all products consistently meet or exceed established specifications and customer expectations prior to shipment.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to efficiently disposition non-conforming materials and products, minimizing production delays while upholding quality standards.
- Create, approve, and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including the Quality Manual, work instructions, inspection plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Design and deliver impactful quality training programs for employees across the organization to elevate quality awareness, competency, and cultural adoption.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other advanced statistical methods to monitor process capability, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions for improvement.
- Act as the designated Management Representative for the QMS, responsible for reporting on its performance and effectiveness to top management during review meetings.
- Investigate complex manufacturing and field quality issues using advanced problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis) to uncover deep-seated root causes.
- Ensure the organization maintains full compliance with all applicable local, national, and international regulations and safety standards related to product quality and manufacturing.
- Manage the document control and change management systems to ensure all controlled documents are current, accurate, and readily accessible to authorized personnel.
- Partner with R&D and Engineering to define quality criteria, risk assessments (FMEA), and validation protocols for new products, ensuring a flawless transition from development to full-scale production.

- Participate in industry forums and professional organizations to stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in quality management.
- Support the sales and marketing teams by providing quality-related data, certifications, and documentation for customer bids and proposals.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- QMS Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485).
- Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Certified or highly proficient in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred).
