Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Comprehensive Program Development: Conceptualize, plan, and implement a diverse and innovative calendar of recreational programs, including sports leagues, fitness classes, arts and crafts workshops, cultural events, and social activities tailored to various age groups and interests.
  • End-to-End Event Management: Oversee all logistical aspects of events and programs, from initial booking of venues and vendors to on-site coordination, setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
  • Community Needs Assessment: Actively engage with community members, leaders, and organizations to identify recreational needs, interests, and gaps in current offerings, using surveys, focus groups, and feedback channels.
  • Budgetary Oversight and Administration: Develop and manage program budgets, track expenses, process invoices, and handle participant registration fees, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to allocated funds.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Create compelling promotional materials and execute marketing campaigns across various platforms (social media, newsletters, local press, flyers) to drive awareness and maximize program participation.
  • Facility and Resource Scheduling: Manage the booking and scheduling of recreational facilities, suchs as community centers, sports fields, and parks, optimizing their use and preventing scheduling conflicts.
  • Stakeholder and Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local schools, businesses, non-profits, and community groups to enhance program offerings and extend community reach.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and provide daily supervision and mentorship to part-time staff, seasonal employees, and a team of volunteers, fostering a positive and motivated team environment.
  • Risk Management and Safety Compliance: Conduct regular risk assessments for all programs and facilities, enforce safety regulations, and ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Serve as a primary point of contact for the public, professionally and courteously responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and providing detailed information about recreational opportunities.
  • Program Evaluation and Reporting: Design and implement evaluation methods to measure program success, participant satisfaction, and community impact, compiling detailed reports with data-driven recommendations for future improvements.
  • Equipment and Supply Management: Oversee the inventory, procurement, and maintenance of all necessary recreational equipment and supplies, ensuring they are safe, clean, and in good working order.
  • Inclusivity and Accessibility Direction: Champion and integrate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all program planning to ensure activities are accessible and welcoming to people of all abilities, backgrounds, and ages.

    -First Aid & CPR/AED Certification: Current certification is typically mandatory to handle on-site medical incidents.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
