Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively greet and welcome every customer with a warm and engaging demeanor, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere from the moment they enter the store.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and inquiries to guide them to appropriate products, providing detailed information, live demonstrations, and tailored recommendations.
  • Accurately and efficiently process all customer transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, using the Point of Sale (POS) system with high precision.
  • Manage all cash and payment handling procedures with integrity, including balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts and adhering to all financial policies.
  • Build and cultivate lasting relationships with customers by providing personalized service, remembering repeat clients, and making them feel valued to foster brand loyalty.
  • Inform customers about current promotions, in-store events, special offers, and the benefits of the customer loyalty program to enhance sales and encourage repeat business.
  • Work proactively to achieve and exceed personal and team sales targets, conversion rates, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set by management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products, including features, benefits, pricing, and new arrivals, to serve as a product expert for customers and colleagues.
  • Address and resolve customer issues and complaints with patience and professionalism, escalating to management when necessary to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

Secondary Functions

  • Consistently uphold a high standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the sales floor, stockroom, fitting rooms, and cash wrap areas.
  • Diligently monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and promptly replenish merchandise from the stockroom to ensure full product availability and a neat appearance.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and processing new merchandise shipments, ensuring items are correctly ticketed, sensored, and prepared for the sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the execution of visual merchandising directives, helping to create and maintain appealing product displays that attract customers and drive sales.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts, stocktakes, and cycle checks to help maintain accurate stock records and minimize shrinkage.

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • POS Operation: Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems and other retail software for transactions, returns, and inventory look-ups.
  • Cash Handling: Accuracy and integrity in handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment, including balancing a cash drawer.
  • Sales Techniques: Knowledge of upselling, cross-selling, and clienteling techniques to maximize sales opportunities and enhance the customer experience.
  • Inventory Management: Basic understanding of stock replenishment, cycle counts, and organization to maintain product availability.
  • Visual Merchandising: Ability to follow planograms and creative direction to set up and maintain visually appealing product displays.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0 - 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role.

Preferred: 1+ years of direct experience in a retail, sales, or high-volume hospitality environment.
