Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for the retail store network, providing timely support, guidance, and resolution for all store-level inquiries and challenges.
  • Meticulously manage inventory accuracy across all locations through the coordination of cycle counts, physical inventories, and the investigation and resolution of stock discrepancies.
  • Analyze sales trends, sell-through rates, and stock levels to execute strategic product allocation and replenishment, ensuring optimal inventory to drive sales and minimize stockouts.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of store inventory, from receiving and processing inbound shipments to managing transfers and coordinating the returns-to-vendor (RTV) process.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs), training manuals, and operational guides to ensure consistency and excellence across all stores.
  • Champion the new store opening (NSO) and store closing processes by creating and managing timelines, coordinating with cross-functional partners, and ensuring all operational tasks are completed successfully.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, payroll, conversion, and shrink, generating insightful reports that identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with the Loss Prevention team to analyze shrinkage data, identify root causes, and implement effective strategies and policies to protect company assets.
  • Support the planning and execution of in-store marketing initiatives, promotions, and price changes, ensuring clear communication and seamless implementation at the store level.
  • Regularly visit retail stores to perform operational audits, assess compliance with company standards, and provide hands-on training and coaching to store teams.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors for store supplies and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of necessary materials.
  • Troubleshoot and facilitate the resolution of store-level IT and systems issues, including POS systems, inventory scanners, and back-office software, by liaising with the IT department.
  • Streamline communication channels between corporate departments (e.g., Merchandising, Marketing, HR) and the retail field to ensure a cohesive and informed store network.
  • Continuously evaluate existing operational workflows and business processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate the employee and customer experience.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer critical business questions from leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader operational strategy and roadmap by providing field-level insights and data-backed recommendations.
  • Collaborate with business units, including e-commerce and wholesale, to translate their needs into shared operational or engineering requirements for unified processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning, agile ceremonies, and project management meetings for the implementation of new technologies or company-wide operational initiatives.
  • Assist in the administration and management of labor planning and scheduling systems to optimize staffing levels and control payroll expenses.
  • Monitor operational expense budgets for the retail fleet, identifying variances and suggesting corrective actions to maintain financial discipline.
  • Coordinate the logistics and operational support for special events, pop-ups, and other off-site retail activations.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Proficiency: You must be a power user, comfortable with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling to analyze large datasets.
  • Inventory Management Systems (IMS): Hands-on experience with at least one major IMS or ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific software).
  • Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Strong working knowledge of modern retail POS systems and their back-office management functions.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: The ability to extract data from various sources, synthesize it, and present clear, actionable insights through reports and dashboards.
  • Project Coordination: A foundational understanding of project management principles to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholders for initiatives like new store openings.
  • Supply Chain Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of basic supply chain concepts, including logistics, replenishment, and reverse logistics.
