Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Proactively greet and engage every customer with a warm, friendly demeanor to create a welcoming and positive shopping environment.
- Actively listen to customer needs, preferences, and inquiries to provide personalized and accurate product recommendations.
- Develop and maintain an expert-level knowledge of all store products, including features, benefits, pricing, and current promotions.
- Drive sales and achieve personal and store-wide targets by effectively communicating product value and leveraging upselling and cross-selling techniques.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with precision to process a variety of transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and gift card purchases.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments securely and efficiently, adhering strictly to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
- Build and nurture a loyal customer base by promoting the store's loyalty program and capturing customer information for future engagement.
- Address and resolve customer issues and complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating complex situations to management when necessary.
- Maintain the visual integrity of the sales floor by ensuring it is clean, organized, and inviting, including fitting rooms and the cash wrap area.
- Assist in executing visual merchandising strategies, including setting up new displays, dressing mannequins, and implementing promotional signage.
- Participate actively in inventory management processes, such as receiving and unpacking new shipments, restocking merchandise, and conducting cycle counts.
- Ensure all merchandise is accurately priced, tagged, and secured with anti-theft devices according to company standards.
- Proactively replenish products on the sales floor from the stockroom to ensure optimal product availability for customers at all times.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on loss prevention, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
- Support store opening and closing procedures, ensuring the store is secure, tidy, and prepared for business operations.
- Stay informed about current retail trends, competitor activities, and new product launches to better serve customers and the business.
- Assist with omni-channel services, including processing online orders for in-store pickup (BOPIS) and ship-from-store.
- Manage the fitting room experience by monitoring occupancy, clearing returned items, and ensuring a clean and private space for customers.
- Act as a dedicated brand ambassador, consistently embodying the company’s values and mission in every interaction.
Secondary Functions
- Support team members during peak hours by flexing between sales, stock, and cash wrap duties as needed.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and product knowledge.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of back-of-house areas, including the stockroom and staff break areas.
