Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with every customer, offering a warm welcome and personalized assistance to understand their needs and guide them toward suitable products.
  • Develop and maintain deep product knowledge across all categories to effectively answer customer questions, offer styling advice, and explain product features and benefits.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with accuracy and efficiency, processing all transaction types including sales, returns, exchanges, and gift card purchases.
  • Execute cash handling procedures with precision, including managing a cash drawer, processing payments, and ensuring end-of-day reconciliation is accurate.
  • Actively drive sales by utilizing upselling and cross-selling techniques to introduce customers to complementary products and promotions, maximizing basket size.
  • Build and nurture lasting customer relationships by capturing client information and promoting loyalty programs to encourage repeat business.
  • Maintain the visual integrity of the sales floor, ensuring merchandise is presented according to company standards, including folding, hanging, and organizing displays.
  • Assist in the execution of visual merchandising directives, including setting up promotional displays, updating mannequins, and implementing seasonal floor sets.
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and inviting store environment by performing regular housekeeping duties such as dusting, sweeping, and tidying fitting rooms.
  • Manage fitting room traffic effectively, assisting customers with sizes and styles while maintaining organization and returning unwanted items to the sales floor.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and empathy, seeking solutions that align with company policy and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Diligently follow all loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage and protect company assets, including monitoring for suspicious activity.
  • Participate in the receiving and processing of new merchandise shipments, including unboxing, sensor-tagging, and placing items on the sales floor or in backstock.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, such as conducting regular cycle counts, organizing the stockroom, and communicating inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Answer store phone calls in a professional manner, providing information on store hours, product availability, and policies.
  • Support omnichannel services by efficiently processing online orders for in-store pickup, ensuring accuracy and a seamless customer experience.
  • Consistently strive to achieve and exceed personal and store sales goals, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and other performance targets set by management.
  • Stay informed about current promotions, marketing campaigns, and store events to accurately communicate offers to customers and drive participation.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, including dress code, scheduling, and attendance.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures as directed by management, ensuring all tasks are completed thoroughly and the store is secure.
  • Proactively replenish merchandise on the sales floor from the stockroom to ensure popular sizes and styles are always available to customers.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • POS System Proficiency: Experience operating Point of Sale systems (e.g., Square, Shopify POS, Lightspeed) for sales, returns, and inventory look-up.
  • Cash Handling & Math Skills: Accuracy in handling cash, credit/debit transactions, and performing basic mathematical calculations for discounts and change.
  • Sales Techniques: Knowledge of upselling, cross-selling, and consultative selling to enhance the customer's shopping experience and drive revenue.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Education:
