Primary Functions

  • Drive and maximize store sales and profitability by meticulously analyzing financial reports, managing controllable expenses, and executing strategies to achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) like sales goals, conversion rates, and units per transaction (UPT).
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates and key holders, fostering a positive, inclusive, and motivational work environment that encourages talent retention and internal growth.
  • Provide consistent, actionable coaching and mentorship for all team members, conducting regular performance reviews and creating personalized development plans to cultivate a strong talent pipeline.
  • Champion and embody an exceptional customer service culture, ensuring every team member is adept at building lasting customer relationships through clienteling and resolving issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Oversee all facets of daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, bank deposits, and ensuring unwavering compliance with all company policies and operational standards.
  • Manage inventory with precision by overseeing receiving processes, conducting regular cycle counts, and partnering with merchandising teams to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent loss.
  • Implement and uphold high standards of visual merchandising, guaranteeing the store is consistently clean, organized, and presented according to brand directives to create a compelling and immersive shopping experience.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and local market trends to identify opportunities for growth, develop grassroots marketing initiatives, and provide insightful feedback to regional and corporate partners.
  • Lead the flawless execution of all in-store promotions, marketing campaigns, and special events, ensuring the team is well-informed and prepared to drive customer engagement and maximize results.
  • Ensure the store's full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies related to safety, security, and loss prevention to protect company assets and minimize shrinkage.
  • Strategically develop and manage the staff schedule to ensure optimal floor coverage that aligns with customer traffic patterns and payroll budgets, while promoting a healthy work-life balance for the team.
  • Cultivate a deep expertise of the product assortment, including features, benefits, and brand heritage, and ensure the entire team is equipped with this knowledge to act as confident brand ambassadors.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and daily huddles to communicate sales goals, company updates, product knowledge, and motivational messages to keep the team aligned, engaged, and focused.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the store and corporate headquarters, effectively communicating store needs, performance results, and on-the-ground insights to various departments.
  • Take ownership of the store's Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, actively managing controllable costs such as payroll, supplies, and damages to drive bottom-line profitability.
  • Leverage CRM and other retail technologies to manage customer data, drive loyalty program engagement, and support the personalization of the customer journey.
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability by setting clear expectations, tracking progress against goals, and holding the team responsible for their individual and collective performance.
  • Proactively address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner, partnering with Human Resources as needed to ensure fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Network within the local community and shopping center management to build brand awareness, drive traffic, and identify potential partnership or event opportunities.
  • Adapt store strategies and team priorities in response to the evolving needs of the business, including seasonality, new product launches, and changing consumer behavior in an omnichannel retail landscape.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests from regional leadership by pulling and interpreting store performance reports.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader retail strategy by providing ground-level feedback on customer behavior, product performance, and competitor activity.
  • Collaborate with corporate business units like Marketing and Merchandising to translate store-level needs and opportunities into actionable plans.
