Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Champion and drive the sales team to consistently meet and surpass daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) through active floor leadership and motivational coaching.
  • Cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service, acting as a role model and ensuring the entire team provides an engaging, personalized, and solutions-oriented shopping experience.
  • Professionally handle and resolve escalated customer inquiries, complaints, and issues to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty, turning challenging situations into positive outcomes.
  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of sales associates, including delegating tasks, managing breaks, and ensuring proper floor coverage to optimize productivity and customer engagement.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor by actively engaging with customers, demonstrating advanced product knowledge, and showcasing effective selling techniques to the team.
  • Facilitate comprehensive and continuous training for the sales team, covering product knowledge, sales methodologies, customer service standards, and operational procedures.
  • Assist the Store Manager in the full-cycle recruitment process, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members to build a high-performing and diverse team.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins and provide constructive, ongoing feedback and formal performance appraisals to support individual associate growth and development.
  • Implement and uphold all visual merchandising directives and standards, ensuring the store is visually appealing, well-organized, and easy for customers to navigate.
  • Oversee daily store operations, including executing flawless opening and closing procedures, managing cash handling protocols, and preparing bank deposits with accuracy.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of senior management, taking full responsibility for store operations, team management, and decision-making.
  • Proactively manage and monitor stock levels, participate in regular inventory counts, and execute strategies to minimize shrink and control loss prevention.
  • Clearly communicate company objectives, marketing promotions, and policy updates to the team, ensuring consistent understanding and execution.
  • Analyze store performance data, sales reports, and customer feedback to identify emerging trends, business opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment where associates feel valued, motivated, and empowered to contribute to the store's success.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the planning and execution of in-store events, product launches, and promotional activities to drive traffic and enhance brand awareness.
  • Maintain a high standard of store cleanliness, organization, and safety, ensuring compliance with all company and legal health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at increasing profitability and market share.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely operational reports regarding sales, staff performance, and inventory to the Store Manager.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners, overseeing the receiving and processing of merchandise shipments.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the storefront and corporate partners, providing valuable feedback on products, customer preferences, and market conditions.
  • Address and mediate employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion, promoting a fair and respectful workplace.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • POS & Retail Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and experience with retail management software for transactions, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Inventory Management: Practical experience with inventory control systems, cycle counting, and loss prevention techniques to manage stock effectively.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Competency in using MS Office, particularly Excel for analyzing sales data and creating reports, and Word/Outlook for communication.
  • Visual Merchandising: A strong eye for detail and the ability to implement visual merchandising strategies that align with brand standards and drive sales.
