Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and champion the long-range strategic plan for the retail division, aligning with overall corporate objectives and financial goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis and competitive intelligence research to identify emerging consumer trends, disruptive technologies, and untapped growth opportunities.
  • Author data-driven business cases and financial models to evaluate and prioritize strategic initiatives, new market entries, and innovative retail concepts.
  • Lead the formulation of go-to-market strategies for new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and service offerings, ensuring a cohesive omnichannel execution.
  • Synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources (sales, customer feedback, market research) into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations, and E-commerce to drive alignment and successful implementation of key strategies.
  • Define, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, providing regular updates to executive stakeholders.
  • Spearhead projects focused on optimizing the end-to-end customer journey, identifying friction points and opportunities to enhance experience across digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Analyze and inform assortment strategy, collaborating with merchants to ensure product offerings are relevant, competitive, and aligned with consumer demand.
  • Develop sophisticated pricing and promotional strategies to maximize profitability, drive traffic, and increase market share while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Evaluate and recommend new retail technologies and digital tools that can enhance store operations, employee effectiveness, and customer engagement.
  • Lead and facilitate strategic workshops and brainstorming sessions with key stakeholders to foster innovation and build consensus on critical business decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling, story-driven presentations to executive leadership to articulate strategic vision, communicate progress, and secure buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Assess the performance of the existing store portfolio and provide data-backed recommendations for store refreshes, relocations, or new-format store rollouts.
  • Develop and refine customer segmentation models to enable more personalized marketing, merchandising, and service strategies.
  • Act as a central point of contact and subject matter expert on the retail industry, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior for the entire organization.
  • Drive the annual strategic planning and budgeting process for the retail organization, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-impact priorities.
  • Analyze the profitability and performance of different store formats and channels to provide recommendations for capital investment and resource allocation.
  • Manage large-scale, cross-functional strategic projects from ideation through to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet strategic objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts and team members, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and strategic thinking within the team.

  • Financial Modeling & Business Case Development: Proven ability to build sophisticated financial models (P&L, ROI, DCF) to support strategic recommendations.
  • Data Visualization & BI Tools: Proficiency in using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to transform complex data into clear, compelling visualizations.
  • Advanced Presentation Skills: Mastery of PowerPoint/Google Slides to craft and deliver impactful, story-driven presentations to an executive audience.

Education & Experience

Educational Background
