Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Act as the primary liaison between the finance business teams and IT for all SAP FICO-related requirements, enhancements, and complex support issues.
- Lead and participate in the design, configuration, and testing of core SAP FICO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
- Configure and maintain the Controlling (CO) module, including Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) to meet business reporting requirements.
- Develop detailed functional specifications for customizations, reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements (RICEFW) and collaborate closely with ABAP developers to ensure successful delivery.
- Drive business process improvement initiatives by analyzing current financial processes, identifying bottlenecks and gaps, and proposing innovative SAP-based solutions to enhance efficiency and control.
- Provide expert-level production support for the SAP FICO landscape, including troubleshooting complex system issues, performing in-depth root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Manage and execute all phases of system testing, including unit testing, integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring proper documentation of test scenarios and results.
- Lead small to medium-sized projects or serve as a key workstream lead within larger SAP implementation, upgrade, or S/4HANA migration projects, adhering to established project management methodologies.
- Facilitate requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder meetings to capture and translate complex business needs into scalable and maintainable SAP system configurations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive and high-quality system documentation, including configuration rationale, business process flows, technical specifications, and end-user training materials.
- Ensure the integrity of financial master and transactional data within SAP by developing and enforcing data standards, and actively participating in data migration and conversion activities using tools like LSMW.
- Analyze, configure, and maintain the critical integration points between the FICO modules and other SAP modules such as Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Production Planning (PP).
- Provide critical system support for financial month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all system jobs and activities are completed accurately and on schedule to meet tight closing deadlines.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial reports using tools like Report Painter, Report Writer, and SAP Query, and support the integration with enterprise BI/BW reporting solutions.
- Stay current with SAP's product roadmap, particularly innovations within S/4HANA Finance, and act as a subject matter expert to advise the business on new features and potential business benefits.
- Design and conduct effective training sessions for new functionalities and provide ongoing knowledge transfer to finance super-users and the broader end-user community.
- Manage SAP system configuration changes in strict accordance with IT change management policies, including the creation and management of transports through the system landscape (Development, QA, Production).
- Assist in the development of compelling business cases and return on investment (ROI) analysis for new SAP FICO-related projects and system enhancements.
- Ensure the SAP FICO environment remains compliant with internal controls, information security standards, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, IFRS).
- Participate actively in SAP S/4HANA migration projects, contributing to fit-gap analysis, solution design sessions, and defining data migration strategies for financial objects.
Secondary Functions
- Support the finance team by handling ad-hoc data requests and performing exploratory data analysis to answer complex business questions.

Hard Skills (Technical)
